Kevin Drumm to Release Double Albums, Constant Fear of Fainting and DRY, via Signal Noise on Nov 1st, 2024
*Chicago, Tokyo, Oct 8, 2024,* — Signal Noise, an independent platform for experimental music, noise, and video art, is set to release two new albums by Chicago’s boundary-pushing sound artist, Kevin Drumm. Constant Fear of Fainting and DRY mark the latest milestones in Drumm’s ongoing sonic explorations and will be available digitally on November 1st, 2024. Digital pre-sales start today, Oct 8th. A 12-inch vinyl release is scheduled for Q1 2025.
In describing Constant Fear of Fainting, Drumm likens the dense textures of his work to “a Black Wall or space with occasional distant beams of light puncturing through at different rates.”
These two albums vividly showcase Drumm’s ability to create intricate soundscapes that are both minimal and maximal, balancing intensity and dissonance while evoking the sensation of fine particles in constant motion. His work invites listeners to explore the coexistence of harshness and softness, chaos and order.
Mastering by Stephan Mathieu. Album covers designed by Joe Gilmore.
